Govt announces major increase in Head Teacher allowance

LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the starting amount of the Head Teacher Allowance has been increased by a factor of ten by the Punjab Government.

In a statement, it has been cited that the merit-based head teachers will now receive a bonus amount ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000.

Thousands of teachers involved in the process of conducting the survey on the socio-economic background of the population received a positive response when the government approved payment for work done on holidays.

As per the directives released by the Punjab Urban Unit, teachers to be deployed for survey duties on Sundays and public holidays will get Rs. 4,000, sources said, adding that there were many complaints received concerning the non-payment of allowances to the teachers who are engaged for survey duties.

In order to facilitate the dispensation of compensation on time, official letters have been sent by the Punjab Urban Unit to all concerned departments and authorities to complete the compensation process without any delay.
