ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has announced the new prices of petrol effective from 09 May 2026 (Saturday).

The government has increased the petrol prices by Rs 14.92 for next week and diesel prices by Rs 15.

As per the information provided by industry sources, the increase was mainly attributed to the surge in FOB gasoline prices, which witnessed an increase from $139.03 per barrel to $143.01 per barrel during the review period.

Despite the decline in premium charges and incidentals, they have been unable to offset the expected increase, adding that the withdrawal of the earlier PSO addition of Rs1.41 per liter has contributed to the increase.
