ISLAMABAD: The interest rates on national savings schemes have been revised, a notification of which has been issued by the Ministry of Finance.
According to the notification, the interest rate on Defense Savings Certificate has been reduced from 12.96 to 11.94 percent.
The interest rate on Pensioners, Welfare and Martyrs Certificates has been reduced from 13.20 to 12.96 percent, while the interest rate on Regular Savings Certificates has been reduced from 12.24 percent to 11.52 percent.
According to the notification, the interest rate on Special Savings Certificates has been reduced from 12.6, after which the interest rate has become 11.43 percent.
The interest rate of national savings schemes has been changed
The interest rate of savings certificates will remain at 10 percent, while the interest rate of Sarwa 5-year Islamic certificates has been increased from 11.16 to 11.52 percent.
According to the notification, the interest rate of Sarwa 3-year Islamic certificates has been increased from 9.16 to 11.50 percent.
Now, on an investment of Rs 1 lakh, a monthly interest rate of Rs 960 will be given on regular income certificates, the interest rate for the first 6 months on special savings certificates will be 11.2 percent and the last 6 months will be 12.6 percent, and the annual interest rate on the Martyrs Family Welfare Account has also been increased to 12.96 percent.
