Here’s how much govt employees’ salary, pension increased from July 2024

ISLAMABAD: After the approval of the Federal Budget 2024-25 from the National and Provincial Assemblies, the salaries of all government employees will increase as mentioned in the budget proposal.

The federal government has approved a 25 percent increase in the salaries of public sector employees along with the Punjab and Sindh governments.

As per the budget’s proposals regarding salary hikes, govt employees from grades 1-16 will get a 25% increase in their monthly pay from July 2024.

In addition, the salaries of govt employees from grades 17-22 will be raised by 20%. Furthermore, the federal and provincial governments have approved a 15% increase in pensions for retired government employees

This move is seen as a significant step by the government to address the concerns of its employees and pensioners, particularly in the wake of the rising cost of living in the country.

Increase in salaries of govt employees from July 2024

In the upcoming budget 2024-25, the governments have approved the increment in government employees’ salaries by 20% to 25%.

The proposals in the Finance Bill 2024 have been approved by the National Assembly and concerned provincial assemblies and the decision will come into effect from July 2024.
