IMF is satisfied with the work of SIFC: Dr Jehanzeb

Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Dr. Jahanzeb Khan, says that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is satisfied with the work of the SIFC.

While talking to the media in Islamabad, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and Special Assistant Dr. Jahanzeb Khan said that the IMF is satisfied with the work of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the SIFC Forum is providing support to speed up privatization while the IM F emphasized on the collection of taxes from the rich and wealthy class.

He said that there is a possibility of investment of 70 billion dollars in Pakistan, discussions are going on with various countries regarding investment, IMF has raised many questions related to SIFC, IMF in investment.

Emphasized on keeping the aspect of transparency and accountability in mind and advised not to give preferential treatment or discount in investment.

Dr. Jahanzeb said that it may take time for private investment to come to Pakistan, China is fully committed to CPEC project, it is a project till 2030, unfortunately there are some problems regarding CPEC from Pakistan, some power plants and Payments for Multan Sukkur Motorway are still pending
