Negotiations with the IMF: Caretaker Finance Minister announced the great news to the people
Islamabad: Caretaker Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar while announcing the good news regarding the talks with the IMF said that no more burden will be placed on the people.
Shamshad Akhtar said that the federal government will adopt a policy of austerity in expenditure, and has assured the IMF that the budget deficit will be kept under control by reducing expenditure.
The finance minister said that the talks with the IMF are progressing in a positive manner, the IMF has full confidence in the actions of the Congress government.

He said that the IMF has expressed assurance on Benazir Income Support Program and development spending, Secretary Finance is holding policy level talks with the IMF mission.

Last day, in the policy level talks between Pakistan and the IMF, increasing income, reducing expenditure, dollar inflows plan, exchange rate, institutional reforms were discussed.
The IMF has agreed that the caretaker government will not impose any new tax, according to sources, the tax target will remain at 9,415 billion.
According to the sources, Pakistan has fulfilled all the important conditions of the IMF for the first review, the staff level agreement will be finalized in the policy level negotiations and upon the successful completion of the review negotiations, Pakistan will get seventy-one million dollars.
