ISLAMABAD: The price of jet fuel, the aviation fuel, has been hiked again in the country, after which it has reached the highest level in history.

According to the details, the price of jet fuel has been increased by Rs 83 per liter, after which its new price has been fixed at Rs 471 per liter. In just one month, the price of this fuel has recorded an extraordinary increase of Rs 283 per liter, which is creating a worrying situation for the aviation industry.

According to the data, the price of jet fuel on March 1, 2026 was Rs 188 per liter, however, this is the fourth time so far that its price has been increased during March. Due to the continuous increase, airlines are facing severe financial pressure.

According to sources, the increase in jet fuel prices is making it difficult for airlines to continue air operations, while its effects are also likely to affect passengers directly. Experts say that if this trend continues, air ticket prices may increase further.

Circles associated with the aviation sector have expressed concern that in the event of a continuous increase in fuel prices, not only fares will increase but the number of flights may also be reduced, causing travel difficulties for passengers.

On the other hand, amid rising inflation in the country, the government has once again increased the price of kerosene, which has further increased the financial burden on the public.

According to an official notification issued by the government, kerosene has been made more expensive by Rs 4.66 per liter, and this increase has been implemented immediately. According to the notification, after the increase, the new price of kerosene has become Rs 433.40 per liter, while previously this price was Rs 428.74 per liter.
