ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in the price of kerosene oil, even as petrol and diesel prices have recently increased.
According to the notification, kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs63.60 per litre, bringing the new price down to Rs365.21 per litre. Last week, the price had already been lowered by Rs21.34 per litre.
The adjustment comes a day after the government raised the prices of major petroleum products. As per a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol and high-speed diesel were both increased by Rs26.77 per litre for the next pricing cycle.
Following the hike, the price of high-speed diesel has reached Rs380.19 per litre, while petrol now stands at Rs393.33 per litre.
Officials stated that the revised petroleum prices will remain effective for one week, starting April 25.
The contrasting adjustments highlight ongoing volatility in fuel pricing amid changing global market conditions and domestic fiscal considerations.
