PESHAWAR: A digital pension system has been endorsed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), whereby pensioners will get payments directly without having to wait in long queues.

In this connection, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has sanctioned the introduction of the Ehsaas e-Pension System.

The system is set to go online on January 1, 2026, according to government sources. Subsequently, all pensions will be disbursed through the digital portal, replacing the current manual system entirely.

An Ehsaas Pension Dashboard will also be introduced.

The officials announced that six months before retirement, workers will be allowed to file their pension case through an easy electronic form on the portal. The documents will be scanned and safely uploaded, whereas the system will automatically create time-limited tasks for the concerned authorities.

The process of verification and approval will also be done electronically. All orders will be issued with legally binding digital signatures.

The paperless system will be integrated with NADRA, the Accountant General’s Office, and banks.

Officials further added that in the e-Pension system, money will be transferred to the bank account of the retired employee within the time limit.

CM Gandapur expressed that retired employees will no longer be required to come to offices again and again for their pensions. He declared it a “true paperless system” that would enhance transparency and accountability.

He also added that 36 public services have already been digitized in the province.
