Lahore issues revised price list for essential food items during Ramadan

LAHORE: The Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza has issued a revised price list for essential commodities for Ramadan 2025.

As per the notification, the revised prices of various staples include Basmati rice priced at Rs245-Rs250 per kilogram, daal chana at Rs270-Rs275, daal masoor at Rs255-Rs260 per kg, daal mash at Rs440-Rs450, and fresh milk at Rs170 per liter. Mutton is priced at Rs1,600 and beef at Rs800 per kg.

The notification did not specify the prices of wheat flour and sugar, the pricing particulars of which, as per the common public means, shop keepers cover up to 40% more than the indicated price.

Apart from the revised price list, the cost of fresh produce has soared due to the following days of Ramadan. Within the last two days, the price of melons has increased from Rs100 to Rs150 per kilogram, while that of a dozen bananas is priced at Rs300. Strawberries now sell for Rs400 a kilo, up from Rs250.
