“This revelation, validated by the Geological Survey of Pakistan, highlights the immense potential of Punjab’s natural resources,” the ex-minister said in a post on X.
The former Punjab Minister revealed that the Geological Survey of Pakistan conducted thorough sampling from 127 sites.
Following the claims from the former minister, the incumbent provincial Minister of Mines and Minerals Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani also confirmed the discovery of a massive gold deposit.
The minister said that the government has been working on assessing the values of gold reserves discovered by the Geological Survey of Pakistan, which according to him is worth Rs600-700 billion in the world market.
Furthermore, the Punjab government had imposed Section 144 to prevent people from stealing gold from the mines.
He further said that the govt has also planned an auction in a month and rules in this regard have been framed, which require cabinet approval.
“An auction committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Attock deputy commissioner,” he added.
