LAHORE: In a recent development, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a free 3-marla plot scheme for deserving people, which is a bold initiative furthering access to affordable housing.

The scheme was unveiled during the inaugurating ceremony of the Zahra Homes/Maskan Ravi project in Kala Shah Kaku as part of the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar initiative.

The program provides interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million to families to help them build their homes. CM Maryam was quite pleased to announce that the project has managed to provide homes to 100 families within 2 and a half months itself.

Allotment letters and keys were also handed to these families by CM Maryam, praising the quality of the homes and the various facilities.

The project is another jewel in our crown: 400 a square feet house, featuring 2 bedrooms, a kitchen; a bathroom along with the courtyard. The buildings are constructed in state-of-the-art EPS Smart Panel technology to make them earthquake-proof, energy-efficient, and environment friendly.

Each house in Maskan Ravi will have a provision for a 5 kW solar system, whereas the community will also be provided with an RO plant for clean water, school, playground, mosque, and dispensary. The Maskan-e-Ravi Housing Scheme is a joint initiative between Ravi Urban Development Authority and EPS Solutions Pakistan.

CM Maryam also revealed plans to launch a new scheme for providing three-marla free residential plots to deserving people, which will further its objective of providing housing.

This initiative is yet another bold step taken to realize the dream of homeownership for many families in Punjab.
