Punjab CM Maryam announces Rs5000 Eidi Scheme

LAHORE: In a ground breaking move, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz announced loans of up to Rs.30 million which will be provided to young individuals or employment purposes, and an impressive 30,000 scholarships to be awarded this year.

Speaking at a scholarship distribution ceremony under the Talented Scholarship Program in Islamabad, Maryam Nawaz expressed her pride and confidence in the country’s future, stating that it is in safe hands.

She was delighted to honor students with a Guard of Honor, and it’s worth noting that a significant 60% of the scholarships have been awarded to female students, a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting education and equality.

The Chief Minister also highlighted a major milestone, as the Punjab government is now providing scholarships to students from private universities for the first time in Pakistan’s history. This move is expected to have a profound impact on the education sector, as it will provide more opportunities for students from all backgrounds to access quality education.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of hard work and responsibility, urging all students to take on the country’s responsibilities and contribute to its growth and development. She congratulated the scholarship recipients, saying that this is the change that the people of Pakistan are witnessing, and that scholarships are a fundamental right of students, which she has fulfilled as part of her duty.

Maryam Nawaz also took the opportunity to criticize her opponents, stating that their role is limited to criticism and propaganda. In contrast, her government is focused on assisting students in acquiring modern skills, including AI and cybersecurity, to prepare them for the challenges of the future.

CM Punjab Laptop Scheme

She announced that all scholarships have been awarded based on merit, and that a laptop scheme will be introduced soon to further support students in their academic pursuits. Looking ahead, Maryam Nawaz revealed that Chinese companies will establish manufacturing plants for electric bikes in Punjab, and that 100,000 electric motorbikes will be distributed to youth by next year.

She urged students to reflect on their contributions to the country, emphasizing that riots, vandalism, and abusive language are not becoming of students, and that they should instead focus on constructive activities that benefit the nation.

The Chief Minister’s words are a powerful reminder of the importance of education, hard work, and responsibility in shaping the future of Pakistan. Her government’s initiatives, including the provision of loans and scholarships, are designed to empower the youth and provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.
