KARACHI: According to the notification, the retail price of milk per liter has been increased by Rs 20 to Rs 240, while earlier the price of milk per liter was Rs 220.
The notification states that the new price will be effective immediately across the city and all retailers have been directed to ensure the sale of milk at the fixed rates.
After this increase, the monthly expenses of citizens are expected to increase, especially for low-income households. This change may increase the financial burden.
According to experts, the price hike has been made due to rising costs in the dairy sector, raw material prices and supply chain problems.
