KARACHI: In a recent development, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in the price of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for the month of December 2024.
According to the notification, the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) price of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has been reduced by $0.36 per million British thermal units (MMBTU), whereas, for SSGCL, it has been reduced by $0.25 per MMBTU.
The new prices for LNG deemed so far determine for SNGPL will be $12.89 and for SSGCL $12.54. This price will be operational for the month of December. Consumers are expected to find some relief pursuing the payment of blister packs during high-energy procurement.
In another development, Pakistan has stated that a second LNG cargo from the SOCAR and the procurement will be completed. The Energy Ministry and Pakistan LNG secured an LNG cargo agreement from SOCAR. This follows last July’s landmark framework agreement between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, under which LNG procurement will be flexible.
