ISLAMABAD: An important statement has been made by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on the country’s economic situation and petroleum reserves.
Briefing the committee on the country’s current economic situation and energy reserves, the Federal Finance Minister said that the country currently has 28 days of diesel and petrol, while overall petroleum reserves are available until the end of March.
The Finance Minister said that there is no shortage of oil and gas in the country, however, steps are being taken to deal with the possible effects of regional tensions.
He said that the government is considering various decisions related to petroleum conservation on the lines of the Corona era and has also appealed to the public to adopt energy conservation so that full benefit can be taken from local reserves.
During the briefing, he further informed that the Prime Minister has established a special committee to monitor petroleum products, which is working on a daily basis.
The Finance Minister clarified that the supply of petroleum products will be regularly regulated and important decisions will be taken immediately if necessary.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the government intends to take more concrete steps for energy conservation so that the country’s economy can be kept stable in view of the global and regional conditions.
