Pakistan to introduce new currency notes

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to introduce new currency notes.

According to the announcement of the federal cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Finance briefed the cabinet on the new design of banknotes issued by the State Bank. The cabinet has formed a cabinet committee to consider the new design of currency notes.

It was informed in the briefing that the new currency notes are being designed in accordance with modern requirements. The services of international experts have been sought for the design of the notes.

The cabinet was informed that new notes of 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 rupees will be introduced. A better security thread will be used in the new notes.
