Pakistani rupee sees slight recovery against US Dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee experienced a modest uptick against the US dollar in early trading on Tuesday, gaining a marginal four paisa to reach 278.60 PKR. This slight improvement comes after a decline of 10.52 paisa in the previous session, which saw the rupee close at 278.64 PKR per dollar.

In other currency markets, the British Pound suffered a notable loss of 1.25 against the rupee, settling at 366.10. Conversely, the rupee strengthened against the Euro, gaining 35.7 paise to close at 308.44.

In addition, the Japanese Yen also saw a slight decline against the rupee, with the exchange rate settling at 1.9019.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Yuan and Swiss Franc experienced depreciation against the rupee, closing at 39.20 and 328.10, respectively.

Since the start of the current financial year, the rupee has depreciated by a modest 0.11% against the dollar. However, it has shown resilience in the calendar year, appreciating by 1.15% against the greenback.
