ISLAMABAD: Total cement shipments during the outgoing fiscal year (FY25) increased by 2% year-on-year (YoY) to 46.22 million tonnes.
Domestic consumption declined by 3.1% to 37.02 million tonnes, while exports increased by 29.5% to 9.20 million tonnes.
Region-wise, mills based in the North reported a 1.8% decline in year-on-year (YoY) dispatches to 32.41 million tonnes, with domestic sales declining by 2.6% YoY and exports growing by 15.6% YoY.
Mills based in the South grew by 12.3% to 13.81 million tonnes, driven by a 33% increase in exports despite a 5.2% decline in domestic demand.
Meanwhile, in June, cement shipments declined 2.8 percent year-on-year to 3.46 million tons, mainly due to a 15.7 percent decline in domestic sales to 2.60 million tons, while exports rose 81.7 percent to 0.86 million tons.
