ISLAMABAD: The caretaker Information Technology (IT) Minister, Umar Saif, inaugurated Pakistan’s first E-Rozgar center in Islamabad on Tuesday. The center is equipped with 100 workstations tailored for freelancers, with plans to expand to 300 workstations in the future.

During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Umar Saif announced the official commencement of the project to establish 10,000 e-rozgar centers across the country. He emphasized that the center aims to provide opportunities for both existing and new freelancers to work independently at low rates.

The E-Rozgar center offers state-of-the-art facilities including high-speed internet, UPS, training centers, individual cabins, meeting rooms, and separate office rooms for start-ups.

Dr. Umar Saif expressed optimism about the project’s impact on increasing IT exports by $10 billion annually and enhancing the capacity and income of freelancers through public-private partnerships. The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) will provide freelancers with the necessary technical support for these centers.
