ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s net metering share of total electricity generation increased by 57 basis points year-on-year in September 2025.
According to NEPRA data compiled by Arif Habib Limited, this reflects the continued growth in rooftop solar adoption and a gradual shift away from exclusive grid dependency.
Net metering units increased by 28.1 percent month-on-month in September, reflecting strong seasonal solar generation and increasing installed capacity among domestic and commercial consumers.
Total electricity generation increased by 0.8 percent year-on-year in the month. This trend indicates the growing interest of consumers in self-generation as electricity tariffs remain high.
