Petrol prices likely to rise in Pakistan, check expected rates inside

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the government of Pakistan is all set to announce the new petrol rates for the next fifteen days, effective from 15 July 2025.

According to details, initial calculations have already been done, keeping in view recent trends in international oil markets.
Early estimates showed petrol price will go up by as much as Rs6.60 per liter, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will go up by Rs5.27 per liter.

Yet, kerosene is likely to become less expensive by Rs3.74 per liter, and light diesel oil (LDO) could be cut by Rs2.23 per liter.

A summary outlining the suggested price revisions shall be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday. The ultimate approval shall lie with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, following which the Ministry of Finance will issue the new prices.

The new prices, after approval, will be in force for the next 15 days.

Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan

On July 1, the federal government raised petrol prices for the next two weeks, increasing the price of petrol by Rs8.36 per liter.

As per a notification released by the Ministry of Finance, the petrol price was raised by Rs14.80 per litre, the new petrol price being Rs266.89 per litre.

Likewise, high-speed diesel price was raised by Rs 10.39 per litre, its new price being Rs 272.98 per litre.
