KARACHI: The public has received another shock due to rising inflation, where the price of broiler meat has been recorded as an increase once again.

After the new prices, there is a fear of additional financial pressure on citizens, while complaints of sales at prices higher than the official rate are also coming to light in different areas.

According to the details, the price of broiler meat was increased by Rs 7 per kg, after which the official rate has been set at Rs 468 per kg. Similarly, the wholesale rate of live broiler chicken has been issued at Rs 309 per kg, while the retail rate has been issued at Rs 323 per kg.

On the other hand, complaints about the non-implementation of official prices in different areas persist. Citizens say that some shopkeepers are selling broiler meat for up to Rs 590 per kg in the name of Safi meat, due to which consumers are having to bear an additional financial burden.

Meanwhile, the price of farm eggs has also been increased by one rupee per dozen, after which eggs are being sold at Rs 238 per dozen. The wholesale price of a carton of eggs has been fixed at Rs 7,020.

Citizens have expressed concern over the continuous increase in prices of food items, saying that it is becoming difficult to meet daily needs. The public demands that the relevant institutions take effective action against overcharging.
