LAHORE: In a recent development, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif went to Chakwal district on Saturday to pay condolences with the victims of floods and cloud bursts.
During the meeting with the victim families, Maryam declared one million compensation for each victim family.
While presiding over a high-level meeting at DC Office Chakawal, she ordered the restoration of all communication bridges along with the construction of a steel bridge over Jhelum Road.
In the meeting, MPA Sultan Haider informed her that his constituency was affected severely by recent monsoon rains hence he appealed to the CM to compensate the people of the area on priority basis.
Maryam Nawaz instructed the concerned authorities to estimate the losses and compensate the people. In the meantime, Maryam Nawaz met with Member of National Assembly Naseer Ahmed Abbas.
She laid special emphasis on the most valuable contribution of overseas Pakistanis towards the development of the country. In the meeting, they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and the pace of development schemes.
The problems concerning the solution of issues encountered by the overseas Pakistanis were also brought into focus. Malik Noor Awan, President of Pakistan Muslim League-N Japan chapter, was also present.
She reiterated that politics of public service is strongly believed by the PML-N. She reassured that all resources are being utilized for the uplift of all regions and the people. High-quality facilities are being extended to rural areas under the “Model Village Project.”.
