KARACHI: Sugar prices have come to light in different cities, contrary to the official prices, it is being sold at high prices.
In Karachi, the official price of sugar has been fixed at Rs 177 per kg, sugar is being sold at retail level at Rs 185 per kg, and at wholesale level at Rs 180 per kg.
In Hyderabad too, the price of sugar has started increasing again, in a few days the price of sugar per kg has increased by Rs 5 per kg, and sugar is being sold at general shops at Rs 185 to Rs 190 per kg.
In Hyderabad’s wholesale market, a 50 kg sack of sugar has also been recorded to have increased by Rs 100, and a 50 kg sack of sugar has become Rs 9,150 in the wholesale market.
Dealers say that in Peshawar, the retail price of sugar per kilogram has increased by Rs 10, the price of sugar per kilogram has increased from Rs 200 to Rs 210, the wholesale price of a 50-kilogram bag of sugar has increased to Rs 9,500.
In Faisalabad, the price of sugar per kilogram has increased by Rs 20 to 30, the price of sugar per kilogram in the wholesale market has increased from Rs 177 to Rs 180, and sugar is being sold in the general market for Rs 200 to 210.
In Multan, the price of sugar per kilogram has increased by Rs 20 in the past few days. The official price of sugar has been fixed at Rs 177, but sugar is being sold in the general market for Rs 200 per kilogram.
