Top federal govt buildings in defaulters list for Rs200 million gas dues

ISLAMABAD: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has listed 20 federal government buildings as defaulters with outstanding dues exceeding Rs200 million.

The 20 top public sector entities, including Aiwan-e-Sadr, Parliament Lodges, Cabinet Division building, Pak Secretariat, the Ministry of Finance, the Foreign Office, and Parliament House, have accumulated substantial unpaid bills.

SNGPL has issued an official communication regarding recoveries, stating details of unpaid dues.

As per the document, one of the meters in the Cabinet Division building owes the pending dues of Rs 23.07 million. The Foreign Office (meter number RC00843909) is also listed with dues of Rs 53.4 million.

Aiwan-e-Sadr Main Building’s meter has outstanding dues of Rs 11.47 million, while the meter at Aiwan-e-Sadr Police Barrack-C owes Rs 2.8 million. Additionally, Aiwan-e-Sadr Barrack-A’s meter has dues of Rs 2.4 million. Other Aiwan-e-Sadr facilities, including Police Barrack-B, Police Barrack-D, Washpoint, and Dispensary, are also among the defaulters.

Parliament House Building is also listed among the defaulters with Rs 24.15 million pending dues.

Furthermore, three meters at the Parliament Lodges have total dues of Rs 24.95 million with the one meter having already been disconnected.

Pak Secretariat blocks including the K-Block, M-Block owes a total of Rs 48.06 million. Secretariat’s Q Block meter with outstanding dues of Rs 3.7 million and B/D Block meter with dues of Rs 1.2 million has a disconnect. Pak Secretariat’s mosque also owes SNGPL Rs 40,271.

SNGPL’s official letter has requested the government and the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) office to take measures for the recovery of the Rs200 million outstanding amount linked to these 20 meters and their respective entities.
