LAHORE: Transporters in Lahore have announced a reduction in fares by 5 to 7 percent after the reduction in the prices of petroleum products, here on Saturday.
As per the reports, on directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz the transport companies reduced fares in view of the reduction in fuel prices.
As a result, ticket prices on several major routes have come down significantly. The fare from Lahore to Karachi has been reduced from Rs 6,600 to Rs 6,550. Similarly, the fare of Islamabad has come down from Rs 2100 to Rs 2000.
The other major reductions include Mansehra fare from Rs 2,600 to Rs 2,500 and Hyderabad fare from Rs 6,100 to Rs 6,050.

The fare for Rahim Yar Khan has been decreased from Rs 3,100 to Rs 3,050, while the ticket price for Bahawalpur has been reduced from Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,050. The fare for Peshawar has been reduced from Rs 2,500 to Rs 2,450.
