ISLAMABAD: Under the new policy of WAPDA 2026, it will now be possible to install multiple electricity meters in homes.

WAPDA and the Power Division have clarified that installing additional electricity meters in homes will be legal and possible in 2026. This policy is especially useful for giant families, landlords and tenants so that each family’s bill is separate and transparent.

Additional meters can be installed only if each part of the house has a separate living space, separate entrance, separate kitchen and separate wiring.

To apply, an identity card, proof of ownership or tenancy, an affidavit and a disco check are required. This system will provide every family with the benefit of fair bills, transparency and proper utilization of subsidies.

Under the rules of WAPDA 2026, installing multiple meters is completely legal and legitimate consumers have the facility of additional meters.
