80 govt schools shut until September 10 in Sialkot, Punjab

SIALKOT: It has been decided to keep 80 government schools in Sialkot closed till September 10 due to floods.

Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali says that schools have been affected by floodwaters, some are standing water. In light of the letter from the School Education Department, 80 government schools in the district will remain closed till September 10.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that several schools in Sialkot tehsil will remain closed from September 8 to 10, teaching will also be temporarily suspended in several schools in Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils.

Officials say that there is a possibility that the school premises will be affected by floodwaters, the safety of children is the top priority.
