QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced summer vacations for all government and private educational institutions located in the summer zone of the province, which are scheduled to close later this month due to rising temperatures.
According to the Balochistan Education Department, all schools, colleges and other educational institutions functioning in the designated areas of the summer zone will remain closed from May 23, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
The notification applies to both government and privately run institutions in the affected areas. Officials said that educational activities under the province’s annual summer vacation schedule will remain suspended during the notified period.
The department has directed the heads of institutions to complete all pending administrative and office matters before the start of the vacations. School administrations have been directed to ensure that official documents, records and internal arrangements are finalized before the closure period.
Furthermore, the education department has made it mandatory for institutions to complete all matters related to the ongoing digital census process before the holidays begin. The authorities stressed that compliance with the issued instructions will be strictly monitored and institutions are expected to fully implement the orders issued by the provincial authorities.
The announcement comes as temperatures are rising in many parts of the province, prompting authorities to move forward with the annual summer closure plan for educational institutions operating in hot areas of Balochistan.
