Canada announces McGill Scholarships for International Students

ISLAMABAD: Canada has launched the McGill Scholarships for International Students 2027.

The program will offer 30 full scholarships and 100 entry awards. Funding includes full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, housing assistance, and access to leadership development programs.

Applicants do not need to be admitted to McGill University in advance; the scholarship application is submitted first.

Although application deadlines for the 2027 class have not been announced, applications are typically open between June and August, as in previous years.

The scholarships are tenable for students pursuing Master’s programs and Second Entry Professional programs, with full financial coverage to alleviate academic and living expenses.

It allows students from all over the world to advance their studies in a highly reputable academic environment without financial burden.

The scholarship supports master’s and professional programs in areas like medicine, dentistry, law, architecture, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, information studies, and urban planning.

Applicants can choose from more than 400 programs available across McGill’s different faculties, from arts to engineering, health sciences, and public policy.

The McGill University Scholarship in Canada covers the entire tuition and fee payment, and the successful candidates will be provided with a monthly allowance toward living expenses of CAD 2,300 per month, including a one-time relocation grant, provision of French language courses, and up to CAD 5,000 in summer funding for eligible students.

The successful applicant is expected to join one of the leading universities in Canada while pursuing a master’s or second-entry professional programs.

To be eligible, an applicant needs to be enrolled in a bachelor’s program, with an expected graduation by August 2027, or needs to have completed a bachelor’s degree on or after January 2021.

Applicants who received a bachelor’s degree prior to this date may apply so long as they are 30 years of age or younger as of January 1, 2026.

All applicants must meet the academic standards of McGill University and their language requirements.

Applications will be made via the McCall MacBain Scholarship Portal (https://mccallmacbainscholars.org/program/) and generally include academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a CV, and personal statement.

The selection committee therefore urges candidates to follow official notices closely, as the deadlines for the 2027 cycle will be announced in due course.
