Cold wave forces change in school timings: Details inside

ISLAMABAD: In view of the cold, school timings have been changed in another province, the new timings will be effective from January 16.

According to the details, due to the severe cold wave in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has announced a change in school timings after the winter holidays.

The notification issued by the Education Department said that the new school timings will be effective from January 16.

All primary schools in the province will open from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, while middle, high and higher secondary schools will provide education from 9:00 am to 2:20 pm.

The aim of this decision is to protect students from severe cold weather and prevent educational activities from being affected.

It should be remembered that the Sindh government had also announced a change in school timings across the province.

On the orders of Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah, all government and private schools will open at 9:00 am, however, the school closing times will remain the same. These new timings are effective from January 16 to January 26.

On the other hand, the Punjab government has extended the winter vacation by a week and set the reopening date for schools as January 19.
