Expected new school timings in Punjab for October: Details inside

LAHORE: The Punjab government is set to announce revised school timings across the province amid changing weather conditions.

According to the details, the new school timings will be implemented in October for all public and government educational institutions across Punjab.

As of September, single-shift schools start at 8 AM and close at 1:30 PM from Monday to Thursday, with classes ending at 12 pm on Fridays.

Double-shift schools, on the other hand, commence from 8 AM to 12 PM in the morning, and afternoon classes start at 1 PM till 5:30 PM. While evening shifts in Double shift school start from 2 PM till 5:30 PM on Fridays.

Expected new school timings in Punjab

For October 2024, it is expected that boys’ classes will run from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while girls’ classes will start at 8:15 AM and end at 2:15 PM. On Fridays, boys will attend from 8:30 AM to 12:15 PM, and girls from 8:15 AM to 12 PM.

In double-shift schools, morning sessions are anticipated to begin at 7:45 AM and end at 12:15 PM, while evening classes will likely start at 12:30 PM and finish at 5 PM. On Fridays, evening classes are expected to begin at 1:30 PM following Jumma prayers.

However, the school education department will later share an official notification regarding new school timings in Punjab.
