FPSC announces CSS 2026 exam date, Check eligibility criteria inside

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has launched the CSS 2026 exam timetable, which is a significant milestone in preparing candidates to work for the government of Pakistan.

The assessment test would be carried out in two phases: In the first phase, the MCQ-Based Preliminary Test (MPT), and in the second phase, the written test would be held.

As per the FPSC, public notice for MPT online applications will be issued on August 10, 2025, and applications will be accepted between August 11 and August 25, 2025. Applications will be accepted from August 11, 2025, and the deadline to apply is August 25, 2025. The MPT test will be held on November 09, 2025.

The eligible candidates of MPT will be able to sit for the written exam, following the Public notice dated December 14, 2025, for online applications. The applications will be received from December 15, 2025, through December 30, 2025. The start date for the CSS 2026 written exam is February 04, 2026.

The National Assembly has passed an amendment to raise the age bar for CSS application from 30 to 35 years, after the significant policy change from 2026 onwards.

Apart from this, candidates will also get an additional chance, so the exam will be more inclusive and thorough.

The FPSC also noted that the CSS 2026 exam schedule is tentative and subject to revision as well.
Since the timetable, qualifying conditions, and test procedures have been established, aspirants are invited to initiate their preparation and target winning in Pakistan’s most prestigious examinations.

Previously, Officials of the Central Superior Services (CSS) revealed the major causes of the 98% failure rate in Pakistan’s most prestigious competitive examinations.
