ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the National Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution to extend the age limit for Central Superior Services (CSS) exams by five years.
The resolution called for the increase to permit any candidate to sit for the competitive examination five times. It called for the maximum age cap on candidates competing in CSS exams to be raised from 30 to 35 years of age.
The resolution was tabled by MNA PML-N member Nosheen Iftikhar. The National Assembly session has been adjourned until Monday at 5 PM.
The Central Superior Services (CSS) exams are competitive exams conducted in Pakistan by the Federal Public Services Commission (FPSC) to recruit candidates into various civil service positions.
The CSS exams facilitate the appointments of candidates into key positions, including administration, foreign services, police, and customs. The exams include written assessments, psychological assessments, and interviews.
The CSS exam is held to a high standard, including across a breadth of subjects, including current affairs and general knowledge (and optional subjects).
Those candidates who successfully qualify for the exam are then allowed to serve the nation in prestigious roles across the national policy and administration sectors in government.
