The Fulbright scholarship 2027 applications are officially open, the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) announced. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the USEFP website by April 1, 2026.

The Fulbright Program, started in 1950, is a joint initiative of the US and Pakistani governments. It has supported more than 9,000 Pakistani students and nearly 1,000 Americans through educational exchanges. The scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, travel, and health insurance for graduate studies in the United States.

USEFP emphasizes that merit is assessed broadly, including academic performance, leadership potential, and commitment to Pakistan’s development. The program is open to all study fields, especially in science, technology, artificial intelligence, trade, economics, and natural resource management. Clinical medicine is not eligible, but non-clinical public health programs are accepted.

Heidi Smith, US Embassy Islamabad Director of Public Engagement, said, “The Fulbright Program invests in Pakistan’s next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. Pakistani graduates are driving change in their communities and addressing key national challenges.” She added that cultural exchanges strengthen US-Pakistan relations, especially during the US’s 250th independence anniversary celebrations.

Since 2005, over 3,000 Pakistani students have benefited from the Fulbright Program. Graduates continue collaborations with US universities, research centers, and technology companies, showcasing skills and fostering partnerships between the two nations.

Dr. Peter Moran, USEFP Executive Director, encouraged students from across Pakistan to apply. “For 75 years, USEFP has nurtured talent and facilitated connections with the US, promoting global solutions and shared prosperity,” he said.

Candidates can apply at www.usefp.org. The submission deadline is April 1, 2026.
