LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department is in the final stages of announcing the new schedule for schools across the province in light of the upcoming winter season.
The updated school timings will officially come into effect from October 20, 2025, and will remain in place until March 2026.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reportedly received the proposal and will soon sign it into law.
Social media reports have claimed that the provincial government is going to abolish weekly holidays. However, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that the weekly holiday schedule remains intact, and schools will continue to observe Saturdays as holidays.
