KARACHI: The Sindh government has entrusted the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur with conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), following IBA Karachi’s decision to opt out of managing the process.

To ensure a seamless execution of the exam, the Sindh Chief Minister has allocated a substantial budget of Rs23.21 billion to IBA Sukkur.

The MDCAT is a crucial exam for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges across the province. Introduced in the 2017-18 academic year, it has been administered in various cities, including Hyderabad, Karachi, Nawabshah, Sukkur, and Larkana. The provincial government aims to hold the exam within the next six weeks.

This development is significant, as the MDCAT plays a vital role in shaping the future of aspiring medical and dental professionals.

By assigning IBA Sukkur to manage the exam, the Sindh government demonstrates its commitment to providing opportunities for students to pursue their dreams in the medical field.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan has been grappling with issues unrelated to education, such as the alarming rate of traffic accidents, which have claimed approximately 70,000 lives in the past six years.

However, initiatives like the MDCAT highlight the government’s efforts to prioritize education and healthcare.
