KARACHI: Kerala Police have seized more than 100,000 fake academic degrees linked to 22 universities and arrested 11 suspects as part of a major crackdown on certificate forgery.
According to reports, the operation targeted a large network involved in the production and distribution of fraudulent degrees. The fake certificates covered multiple professional fields, including medicine, nursing, and engineering.
Authorities said the forged degrees were used to secure jobs across various sectors. Investigators estimate that more than one million fake degrees have already been circulated and used for employment purposes.
The investigation revealed that the network sold individual fake certificates for amounts ranging between Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 400,000, generating significant illegal revenue.
Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are underway to identify and dismantle the wider network behind the large-scale forgery operation.
