LAHORE: The rates of schools functioning under Pakistan Railways have been increased by the authorities of Pakistan Railways, and this increase will take effect from this month. The list of people who would be affected by the increase in rates also includes the general public.

As per the media report, the monthly charges paid by the children of railway employees belonging to Grades 1 to 10 have been increased from PKR 700 to PKR 900.

Moreover, the charges paid by the children of employees and officers belonging to Grades 11 to 22 have also been increased from PKR 800 to PKR 1000.

For children other than those of railway employees, the cost has been upped from PKR 1300 to PKR 1500, where concerns have been raised by the parents. This is because the cost has increased to meet the increasing expenses and maintain the educational facilities.

The fees have also been changed in the regions. In the railway schools of Samah Satta and Khanewal, the monthly fee for general children has increased from PKR 1000 to PKR 1200.
