KARACHI: A group of Palestinian students from Gaza have arrived in Karachi to continue their studies since educational institutions in their war-torn homeland are in ruins.

Seven of the students have already landed in Karachi, and another group is expected to arrive in Karachi shortly.

The students will enroll in a university across Karachi, with the Al-Khidmat welfare organization providing for their educational and living expenses.

This is not the first time Palestinian students have come to Pakistan seeking refuge to reach their educational goals. Last October, 27 Palestinian medical students from Gaza came to Lahore to continue their education.

Of note, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has granted special permission for these students to practice, and it is expected that around 100 medics and dental students will make their way from Gaza to Pakistan.
