Punjab E-bike scheme for teachers, Check eligibility criteria, how to apply

LAHORE: The Punjab government has revealed its plan to roll out an e-bike scheme in 2026 initiative for teachers as part of its strategy to promote teacher welfare in the province. This move comes in the wake of the success realized in implementing electric bike initiatives for students.

The initiative aims to make commuting to schools and colleges easier and reduce the daily commuting costs that teachers incur. Reportedly, with this initiative, the government also intends to promote environmental sustainability, as the vehicles are electric.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The teachers employed in government schools and colleges in the province of Punjab will be able to apply for the plan.
  • The applicant must be in active service and fulfill the requirements for the level of their service as determined by the education department.
  • Women teachers might be eligible for further benefits through the special relief package.
  • The program will be available only for eligible and verified teachers.

How to Apply

  • Teachers will be eligible to apply via the normal application process once this initiative has officially been launched.
  • Applicants may be asked to provide some basic personal as well as service-related details.
  • The applicants may need to provide basic information on personal and service-related grounds.
  • A small deposit will be paid to secure the electric bicycle.
  • The balance will be offset through easy monthly installments at the institutional level.

Launch Expected

Although the final launch date has not been announced by the government yet, the Punjab Electric Bike Scheme for Teachers is expected to be launched in early 2026. Further details will be shared regarding the application process and eligibility closer to the rollout.
