LAHORE: In a move to help the bright and deserving students of the province, the Punjab government announced the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme here on Saturday.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Punjab Higher Education Commission and several private universities to implement this initiative.
Under this initiative, the government will provide scholarships worth Rs 7 billion to students this year.
The Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme is to be completed in seven years with a total budget of Rs 131 billion.
However, the budget will be increased by 10 percent every year to ensure that maximum number of students can benefit from the scheme.
By the end of the program, nearly 30,000 students in Punjab will have access to financial aid, helping them pursue higher education and achieve their educational dreams.
