Punjab govt takes strict measures ahead of MDCAT exam 2024

LAHORE: The Punjab government has taken strict measures to ensure the integrity of the upcoming MDCAT test on September 22.

To prevent cheating and maintain a secure environment, Section 144 has been imposed in 12 cities across the province, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujarat, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Only candidates and authorized supervisory staff will be allowed inside exam centers. To minimize external interference, the movement of unrelated individuals will be restricted within 100 yards of the centers.

Moreover, To avoid a cheating scandal like last year, the provincial government decided to shut down mobile phone services during the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) scheduled for September 22 Sunday.

As 2 lac students will appear in MDCAT this year, the Peshawar local administration decided after a strategic meeting with key officials, including Peshawar DC, Khyber Medical University officials, and top cops.

Protests and demonstrations have been banned near exam centers to prevent any disruptions and ensure the test is conducted fairly.

These measures aim to prevent external assistance to candidates and guarantee the security and credibility of the MDCAT exam. By imposing Section 144, the government is taking a proactive approach to maintaining a conducive and secure testing environment.

Additionally, carrying weapons, mobile phones, digital diaries, books, and guides would be prohibited in and around the exam centers.
