LAHORE: Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has unveiled plans to revolutionize the examination system in schools and colleges by introducing conceptual testing.
Hayat further mentioned that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had constituted a dedicated task force to oversee those reforms, mostly focusing on the upcoming teacher training program.
While addressing an event at Woman University, Rawalpindi, Hayat said that there was a need to provide practical and technology-based learning. He stressed the need to empower heads of schools and colleges on issues faced by the teachers and students.
Hayat expressed optimism that the problem of the education department would be overcome in three months.
Other participants, including educational experts and university rectors, mentioned the relevance of reforming curriculums in tune with global standards.
They underscored the value of technological skills for scholars to brace for a world dominated by computers and robotics. The session concluded with a call for the integration of the Matric and Intermediate systems into O and A Levels and a focus on conceptual learning.
Hayat’s vision for Punjab’s education system covers a thorough modernizing of it with the hope set upon the administration to push up literacy rates and enhance the education system with equal access for all students. Highlights of his vision included the modernizing of the curriculum, introduction of technology in the classroom, and capacity building for the staff-development program for teachers.
