LAHORE: A summary has been submitted to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz by the Punjab Higher Education Department regarding holidays in colleges during winter.
According to reports, the department has suggested that the winter holidays in colleges be from December 26. The summary suggested that institutions of higher education should have a shorter holiday break than schools, so that it doesn’t hamper the study routine.
The announcement for the holidays at the colleges is expected to be made after approval from the chief minister, and the announcement will reveal the length of the holidays.
Students, parents, as well as teachers are waiting for the final notification to confirm the holiday calendars. At the same time, the school break schedule has already been announced. Holidays are from today until January 11.
All (CEOs) have been asked to ensure strict implementation of the vacation schedule, said the department.
Earlier today, the Sindh government made an announcement that all educational institutions in the province would remain closed between the 22nd and the 31st of December.
“All educational institutions will be opened on January 1,” added a spokesperson for the government of Sindh.
In the colder areas of Balochistan, government schools will be closed for two and a half months, effective December 16.
