Sindh govt announces winter vacation for schools

KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has announced winter vacations in schools, here on Tuesday.

As per the issued notification by Sindh Education Department, schools across Sindh will remain closed from December 21 to December 31.

The notification states that this decision will apply to all private and government educational institutions.

Earlier, the Punjab government had issued a notification for winter vacations for all government and private schools across the province.

It states that the winter vacations will be from December 20, 2024 to January 10, 2025. However, schools will reopen on January 13 as January 11 and 12 (Saturday and Sunday) are weekly holidays.

After the approval of the competent authority, it is informed that the winter vacations will be observed in all government and private schools in the province of Punjab from 20.12.2024 to 10.01.2025. “All schools will reopen on Monday, January 13, 2025 (11.01.2025 and 12.01.2025 are Saturday and Sunday),” the notification reads.
