Summer vacation for schools extended in Punjab?

LAHORE: Following the Sindh government’s decision to extend the summer holidays in schools, students in Punjab are looking for some news from the Punjab government regarding the extension of summer vacations.

Earlier, schools in Punjab were closed on May 25 after the provincial government announced seven additional holidays due to the rising temperature.

Before that, the summer holidays in all private and public schools were notified to start from June 1, 2024, till August 14, 2024.

According to the Punjab Education Department, all public and private schools are set to reopen on August 15.

Extension in Punjab Summer Vacation?

Currently, there is no update regarding an extension for the summer holidays in Punjab. The provincial government could review the schedule if there is any uncertainty in the prevailing weather conditions. 

Sindh extends summer vacations 2024

KARACHI: The Sindh government extended the summer vacations across the province for all public and private schools by 14 days due to the prevailing severe weather conditions.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh Education Department, all private and government schools will remain closed till August 14 and will reopen on August 15.

Sindh Education Department mentioned extreme heat, a potential heatwave, and the monsoon season as reasons for the extension of summer vacations.
