The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed Ayub as their nominee for prime minister. The approval of Ayub’s bail comes after a lengthy court battle in which 23 cases have been brought against him, according to the petitioner, Babar Awan, a fellow PTI politician.

According to Awan, of these cases, 13 are filed in Rawalpindi, 2 in Islamabad, 4 in Lahore, 3 in Attock, and 1 in Gujranwala.
