Peshawar High Court grants Omar Ayub Protective Bail

PESHAWAR: Amid a flurry of court cases, Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has approved Omar Ayub’s bail application. He was told to provide a one lakh rupee bond and promise to appear before the appropriate courts within a month, which led to the decision.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed Ayub as their nominee for prime minister. The approval of Ayub’s bail comes after a lengthy court battle in which 23 cases have been brought against him, according to the petitioner, Babar Awan, a fellow PTI politician.

According to Awan, of these cases, 13 are filed in Rawalpindi, 2 in Islamabad, 4 in Lahore, 3 in Attock, and 1 in Gujranwala.
Awan begged for an eight-week timeframe to settle all of the legal issues involving him in order to get some peace of mind.

Chief Justice Khan requested clarification regarding the duration granted to the accused for obtaining bail in view of these events. After careful consideration, the judge released Omar Ayub on bond, preventing him from being arrested in any future cases.
